Slide 1:

> We mentioned how through our research of Northern Soul we found that, to us, the most prominent part of the Northern Soul scene was the dance and music movement and the fashion that came along with this.
> We also touched on the fashion references that we found such as how early Northern Soul fashion drew from Mod style including Fred Perry polos and shrink to fit Levi's jeans and how it later developed into baggy Oxford trousers and sports vests.

Slide 2:

> For slide 2 we explained our concept which is to showcase family in a casual and candid way around locations in Sheffield, including Northern Soul references.
> This is because people who were and still are involved in the Northern Soul scene say that it feels like a family to them.
> Therefore my brother and I are the models in our photoshoot and video to show the theme of family.

Slide 3:

> We included my location mood board in the presentation to visually show the locations of the photo and video shoot and included independent Sheffield based stores such as Mooch Vintage, Vulgar Vintage, Steamyard Coffee Co. and Bear Tree Records. We also wanted to incorporate Sheffield street art artists such as Kid Acne, Phlegm and Jo Peel.

Slide 4:

> For styling for my brother's outfit we included earlier Northern Soul style references such as a polo shirt, Levi's jeans, Doc Martens and a denim jacket featuring many pins to link to the sew on patches Northern Soul fans would wear on their jackets and bags to show their club membership.
> For styling for my outfit we decided on later Northern Soul style references such as wide leg trousers and a tank top.

Slide 5:

> We picked out some close up shots of the details of the outfits.

Slide 6:

> We included the shots that we took to recreate the poses from photographer Malina Rose because we wanted to try out some more interesting photography, playing with angles and focusing.

Slide 7:

> We also featured some other shots from the photoshoot that we liked such as the Northern Soul sign and record wall outside and in the Frog and Parrot pub.

The concept of the shoot is a brother and sister visiting their favourite locations and stores in and around Sheffield to showcase family, whilst including references to Northern Soul and Sheffield street style through the places we visit and the garments we wear. As the brother and sister in the shoot is going to be myself and my brother we are going to visit our favourite street art locations as they are a big element of Sheffield and why we like the city. We are also going to visit our favourite vintage stores, Mooch Vintage and Vulgar Vintage as we both personally love to source our fashion from vintage stores and this is also a big trend around Sheffield and Sheffield street style and a popular trend in general. We are also going to visit Bear Tree Records as my brother in particular likes to collect music on records and we can include Northern Soul music references from here.

What does Northern Soul & Sheffield street style mean to me? > Before this project I had only heard the term 'Northern Soul' but never knew what it was or what it meant. > After researching the subculture the aspect of Northern Soul that stuck out to me the most was that everyone that was involved in the scene said that it felt like a family to them. > To me, Sheffield has meant family as my brother lived in Sheffield before I did so I always associated Sheffield with seeing him. > Therefore my brother and I are going to feature in the video and the photoshoot to convey this theme of family.
